During one of the most challenging times of my career, I was a partner at Arthur Andersen, navigating the storm of a partnership under indictment and its unnecessary demise.
It was a period marked by uncertainty and fear, as many of my partners worried about their futures.
But amid this chaos, a remarkable opportunity arose. I was proud to be among the 25 founders of Huron Consulting Group, one of the first companies to emerge from the ashes of that crisis. This new venture was not just about survival; it was about redefining our purpose and paving a path forward.
Together with my fellow founders, we worked tirelessly to create a platform that not only addressed the immediate needs of our clients but also created a culture of resilience.
We successfully saved 250 jobs during this transition, providing stability and I hope a sense of hope to those who felt lost in the aftermath of the firm.
Since its founding, Huron has established itself as a key player in the consulting industry and now operates globally, with offices in North America, Europe, and Asia.
This experience taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, collaboration, and the power of community in overcoming adversity. It was a testament to how even in the darkest times, we can find strength and create new beginnings.
Today, I carry those lessons with me as I continue to support businesses through their own crises, helping them navigate challenges and emerge stronger on the other side.
Looking forward to discussing more cases – both old and new – and the lessons learnt.
